This activity is a follow-up to learning the five major scale positions. The goal is to play all of the scales in the same relative fingerboard position. This is an extremely powerful skill when improvising over chord progressions with shifting key centers.

The extension of this study is to increase each position #1 by one allowing you to move to the next region on the neck. This will achieve a total of five regions.

The second region would look like this:

G #2 – A #1 – B #5 – C #5 – D #4 – E #3 – F #3
