I developed this study as a way to open a pathway to improvising melodies and harmonizing in real time. It is built around five chord scenarios, each representing some of the most commonly found progressions in jazz.
These examples showcase improvisational ideas with the added use of:
- Extended Harmony
- Altered Dominant Chords
- Tri-Toe Substitution
- Chord Substitution
- Blues Tonality (page five)
