Angela was married to one of my closest friends Martin. She passed away in 2012. This piece is my attempt to capture the joy she brought into our lives and the deep sadness we felt after she was gone. I’ve only performed it a few times. The E♭maj7 voicing in bar two is a quiet nod to Ralph Towner.
