“After You” was written in 2021 for Debbie. The piece is essentially composed in counterpoint, giving the impression of a musical conversation within the band. It’s another tune written for RedShift. I especially enjoyed the solo section, which explores modality—alternating between C Dorian and C Lydian. We performed it a few times, but the tune was eventually set aside in favor of newer material.
