Accented Triplets

I created this etude to strengthen my sense of meter while emphasizing triplet off-beat accents. Typically, triplets are accented in groups of three, naturally aligning with the downbeats. In this example, however, the accents are grouped in fours, creating a 4-against-3 polyrhythm. Using a pentatonic scale—with its two-notes-per-string pattern—helps stabilize both the underlying meter and the accented polyrhythm.
