Quiet Conversation

“Quiet Conversation” was written while I was studying film composition at UCLA. Originally an arranging assignment for woodwinds, the piece naturally took on an introspective character. Later, when I introduced it in a jazz setting, I used that quality as a foundation for the band to interact—musically carrying on a quiet, thoughtful conversation. Although I never recorded it with On The Mile, the piece was a source of deep inspiration for us. Decades later, I revisited and recorded it with Tom Glenn for our album Continuum.
