“Debbie’s Waltz” was written in 2016. The original plan was to include it on the fifth Goodis and Glenn CD. Although we recorded the track the CD release never came to fruition. Composed in three-quarter time, the waltz offers an opportunity to explore polyrhythms, which makes it especially compelling for composition. The A section carries a relaxed quality that seamlessly transitions into a more dynamic B section, which gradually builds in intensity before resolving and returning to the more relaxed A section. The song was later added to RedShift sets.
