I composed Caloroso on November 17, 2016, for Goodis and Glenn, although we never recorded it. We made four CDs, and had there been a fifth, this piece would have been included. I was very happy with the tune, so I continued to play it with students and performed it with RedShift. The piece is based on a pentatonic melody, which gives it a distinctly memorable quality. The A section is denser, featuring repeated melodies, while the B section opens up with a more sparse texture and concludes with a relaxed feeling.
