I wrote this piece for my bandmate and friend, Doug Brandon. We met back in 2021 while playing together in the Zavala Soul Jazz Posse. Over the years, we’ve played countless gigs and I’ve come to know Doug as not just a talented keyboardist, but a genuinely good guy. While the band focused mainly on cover songs, I wanted to write something original just for him. We only performed it a few times.
