“Takes Time” was written in 2020 and made its way to RedShift in January 2021. The song is divided into two sections: the first features a funk groove with tight unison playing, led by the drums to set the tone. The second section introduces the melody with a bluesy funk vibe. We performed this piece many times at The Blue Beet in Newport Beach.
