I composed “RG” in 2006 for my brother Ron. Though he never played an instrument, Ron shared my deep love for music. This piece is a simple melody, harmonized in a conservative way. It’s through-composed, meaning I wrote it in a single, uninterrupted sitting—likely in just 10 to 15 minutes. I value the purity of that process.
