“One For T” was written June 9th of 2022 for an exceptional drummer and my good friend, Tyler Walton. The 6/8 triple meter provides an ideal canvas for a skilled drummer to fully express themselves, and I composed the piece with that in mind. The melody is rhythmically intricate over static harmony to create tension and momentum. This builds until a break at the bridge, which opens up and leads to a definitive conclusion.
