One of the many songs I’ve written for Debbie, this piece was composed in July of 2022. The influence of Pat Martino’s solo guitar work is evident throughout. It opens in 4/4 time with a two-line melody, then shifts to 3/4 time, introducing larger voicings and occasional moving thirds. The transition to 3/4 lends a lighter, more fluid rhythmic feel. I’ve always thought of this as primarily a solo guitar piece—it was never performed.
